BBAW 1

BBAW 2011 - Graphic (square, 200px wide)

It's Book Blogger Appreciation Week!  A time to celebrate book bloggers and all they do, with giveaways, articles, and blogging topics.  Today's topic is the following:

While the awards are a fun part of BBAW, they can never accurately represent the depth and breadth of diversity in the book blogging community. Today you are encouraged to highlight a couple of bloggers that have made book blogging a unique experience for you. They can be your mentors, a blogger that encouraged you to try a different kind of book, opened your eyes to a new issue, made you laugh when you needed it, or left the first comment you ever got on your blog. Stay positive and give back to the people who make the community work for you!

Ok, so before the Christy Project started, I was writing reviews of YA/MG books on my writing blog, Jenn Musing. But, a few months ago I realized I wanted my blog to be focused more on writing then on book reviews.  And that made me sad, because I LOVED reading and writing book reviews.  But then I had the brilliant idea of starting another blog just for Christian book reviews.  "Why not create a blog for the MG/YA reviews?" you ask.  It's simple.  I couldn't find many Christian book bloggers, so I decided to become one. The inspiration:

1) Juju at Tales of Whimsy:   If you don't know Juju, go to her blog NOW!  I'll forgive you for leaving my blog and getting lost in hers.  I not only adore her blog and her short but sweet reviews, but also her community spirit.  She is always writing comments on other blogs and responding to comments on her own blog.  I aspire to be a blogger like her.

and

2) Kristi at The Story Siren.  If my blog could even be half as awesome as hers, I'd be in blogger heaven.  If you're a YA reader and don't know her blog you are most def missing out.  Her Debut Author Challenge is awesomesauce.  :)

Happy reading all, and God bless!
~Jenn

  6. I love finding new Christian book blogs! My book blog started out as a Christian book blog, but I now review secular books as well. It's difficult getting Christian publishers to mail books to this country... but I've discovered some really wonderful, clean secular books. :P
